- Personal Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a chosen username (Explorer Name).
- Location Data: Our core functionality relies on GPS. We collect your device's precise location data to verify when you are near Loot Points and to enable local features like the 50 km Tavern Chat. We only track your location while the app is in use.
- User-Generated Content: Any messages you send in the Tavern Chat (Global or Private) are temporarily stored on our secure servers to facilitate communication between explorers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data exclusively to operate and improve JourneyLoot:
- To authenticate your account and manage your Premium subscriptions (if applicable).
- To render the interactive map and validate your physical presence at landmarks.
- To moderate the Tavern Chat and ensure a safe community environment.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information or location data to third parties. We share data only with essential service providers necessary to run the app:
- Google Cloud / Firebase: For secure database hosting and user authentication.
- MapTiler: To render the map interface (your exact personal identity is not shared with MapTiler, only coordinate requests).
5. Data Retention and Account Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. You can do this directly within the app settings or by contacting our support team. Upon deletion, your email, location history, and chat logs will be permanently removed from our active databases.
6. Children's Privacy
JourneyLoot is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it immediately.
