Terms of Service
These terms govern access to JourneyLoot: The New Zealand Adventure, including real-world exploration, Tavern Chat conduct, subscriptions, and the core legal conditions for using the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using JourneyLoot: The New Zealand Adventure ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
2. Real-World Exploration & Liability Waiver (Important)
JourneyLoot is a location-based game that encourages real-world exploration. By playing the game, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for your own safety and the safety of others while using the App.
- You will abide by all local laws, traffic regulations, and pedestrian rules.
- You will not trespass on private property, enter restricted areas, or access locations that are dangerous while searching for Loot Points or landmarks.
- JourneyLoot, its developers, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any personal injury, property damage, accidents, or legal violations resulting from your use of the App in the real world.
3. User Accounts and Subscriptions
To access certain features, such as the Global Tavern Chat or offline maps, you may need to purchase a Premium subscription.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All subscription payments are processed securely through the respective App Store (Apple or Google Play).
- JourneyLoot does not store your credit card information.
4. Tavern Chat and User Conduct (Zero Tolerance Policy)
JourneyLoot features a live chat environment known as the Tavern Chat. We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy for abusive behavior. You agree not to:
- Post or transmit any content that is offensive, hateful, racist, explicit, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- Harass, threaten, or bully other explorers.
- Use the chat for commercial spam or unauthorized advertising.
JourneyLoot reserves the right to moderate content, issue warnings, and permanently ban any account that violates these rules without prior notice or refund.
5. Intellectual Property
All content within the App, including but not limited to the game mechanics, code, map designs, the JourneyLoot name, and the kiwi avatar logo, are the intellectual property of JourneyLoot. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
6. Modification of Services
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any of its features, including the location of Loot Points, at any time, with or without notice.
7. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
